Tip 1: Roll up a pinch of fiber

Take the tiniest pinch of fiber to create each eye. Contradictorily, when making eyes I find that the eye ends up being larger than the piece I picked out. Of course, if you want big eyes, make big eyes. Once you have two evenly-sized pinches of fiber, roll them into tiny balls between your thumb and forefinger.

On the left side of the image, two partially obscured hands pull and pinch a tiny piece of black fiber. On the right side of the image, a partially obscured left hand rolls a tiny piece of black fiber between thumb and middle finger. A partially completed black-capped chickadee needle-felted borb sits on a foam felting pad in the background in both images.
